Spring in Australia- November 2017

Bondi Beach

This November I was blessed to visit my wise and inspiring friends Page, Gavin and their darling little superstar Zoe at their home in Bondi Beach, NSW. I awoke at 4:30 each morning to walk the beach at Bondi and the villages and coves along the westward coast. The warm, tropical air and ocean sunrise remain somewhere in my heart.

​Sydney Harbor

A vibrant and diverse city, Sydney reminded me of San Diego, Nice, Monaco and San Francisco all rolled into one. I spent hours just wandering the streets near the Opera House, Harbor Bridge, Toronga Zoo, Circular Quay, St. Mary's Cathedral and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

I could not get enough of this beautiful building with a fabulous permanent collection plus a visiting Dutch Masters exhibit!! Yowza!! Vermeer and Rembrandt, plus Peter Paul Rubens, Leighton, Waterhouse and a colorful aboriginal art collection that shares the history of the Australian indigenous culture.

Trigger was my painter's assistant for Billings first cold day of the season while I painted this piece commissioned by Vision Optical. What a blessing!!
